Eligibility Criteria:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Derrickman
Responsibilities:
- Derrick Operations: Operate and maintain the derrick and associated equipment during drilling operations, ensuring safe and efficient hoisting of drill pipes and other equipment.
- Pipe Handling: Assist in the handling, sorting, and inspection of drill pipes, tubulars, and other drilling equipment on the rig floor, following established procedures and safety protocols.
- Fluid Management: Monitor and maintain drilling fluid levels in the mud pits, assist in mixing and conditioning drilling fluids, and perform routine checks to ensure proper mud properties.
- Equipment Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of derrick equipment, including lubrication, greasing, and minor repairs, to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety procedures and regulations while performing derrick operations, including the use of personal protective equipment and adherence to safe work practices.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergencies and incidents on the rig floor, including well control situations, by following emergency procedures and assisting the drilling crew as needed.
- Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with the drilling crew, including the driller and assistant driller, to coordinate derrick operations and ensure smooth workflow.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of derrick activities, including pipe tallies, equipment inspections, and safety reports, in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Training and Development: Participate in training programs and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge related to derrick operations, safety procedures, and emergency response protocols.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other rig crew members to achieve operational objectives, contribute to a positive work environment, and support the overall success of drilling projects.
